George A. Romero's City of the Dead

Footage of the cancelled George A. Romero game 'City of the Dead'. It was in production by Hip Interactive to coincide with the release of the movie 'Land of the Dead' but was eventually scrapped in favour of the quickie tie-in Land of the Dead: Road to Fiddler's Green game by Digital Extremes. It's too bad because this one looked slightly better and was also going to star Tom Savini as the narrator.

George A. Romero "Diary of the Dead" Festival Sitges 2007

Night of the Living Zombie - Rob Zombie meets George Romero!

Night of the Living Zombie - Rob Zombie meets George Romero! An amazing sync (like "The Dark Side of the Rainbow / Oz") featuring the music of Rob Zombie's "Hellbilly DeLuxe" sync'd with George Romero's occult classic "Night of the Living Dead".Pause "Hellbilly DeLuxe" on 0:00 and set to repeat. On the main menu of Night of the Living Dead, press play, then about 1/2 second later press play on the CD player. You may have to tinker with it a bit, but as you can see in the video, the music should kick in right as "Night of the Living Dead" appears on the screen.Yes, there is a DVD, and it is very popular, especially at raves! And as you might guess, there's a story too. Here is the short version:Last year (2006) I got in to the meet and greet at the Rob Zombie concert, and though I didn't get to talk to him at length, Rob does have a set of my syncs. Then I went to DragonCon here in Atlanta and met George Romero. His sore spot is the fact that he lost the copyright on "Night of the Living Dead". I mean he had already mentioned it 3 or 4 times by the time I got to the microphone. I told him I had a way he could scoop up most of what he had lost and it involved some DVD's I made. I asked if he was interested and he said "Of course"!So I went down to the stage and presented him with my 13-sync-set in front of 500 or so people. I took "The Dark Side of Oz" out and told him this is what started it all, and then I took out "Night of the Living Zombie" and said here's the one with your movie. He asked me if I had permission to do them and I said no, it's strictly illegal. So he held his arms up in the air with one sync in each hand and said "How does he get away with this"? Then he looked at me and shook his finger and said "You need to get these legaled up". And I said I was going to.Then he shook my hand and signed my copy of "Martin", and 500 people booed me, since he wasn't signing autographs that day. It was awesome! As I went to sit down he was still going on about it, and later as he was leaving the stage he held both syncs in the air again saying "How does he do it"? It was the high point of his whole day... mine too, George!____________________________So the facts are:1. Syncs are popular (you're watching one now, aren't you?)2. People are willing to pay money for them (I should know, I've sold thousands!)3. The movies and sound recordings are under lock and key (guarded by trolls, even!)But somewhere, perhaps even reading this right now, is a person with enough imagination and "pull" to make syncs legitimately. It's a cash cow, guys, so WTF are you waiting for? Call me!To paraphrase Jack Sparrow, "I may be the worst pirate you ever heard of... but you have heard of me".The DeVille.
